Testing and qualityMemodyne Testing And Quality: seven emblems, read one at a time
The seller’s page carries a wall of quality emblems for Memodyne, and seven of them appear on this website: made in the USA, GMP certified, non-GMO, natural ingredients, doctor formulated, gluten free and vegetarian. Its page adds that the capsule is made in an FDA-registered facility. Most of them are statements about the factory or about sourcing. Not one of them reports a measurement taken on the bottle in your hand.
This page takes each emblem in turn and says what it is a statement about, because an emblem wall is only useful if somebody reads it out loud.
The seven Memodyne emblems
Seven marks, each with a sentence about what it is a statement about.
Made in the USAWhere it was manufactured. The label adds: with globally sourced ingredients.
GMP certifiedGood Manufacturing Practice: how the facility is run and documented.
Non-GMOA sourcing claim about the raw materials used.
Natural ingredientsAn unregulated word with no testable definition behind it.
Doctor formulatedNames no clinician. This desk has no name to print beside it.
Gluten freeNeither the label wrap nor the seller’s page says gluten free, so the emblem is the only source for it. Ask the order desk before relying on it.
VegetarianBacked by the panel: the capsule shell is hypromellose, a plant cellulose.
Read down that list and a pattern appears: two of the seven are about the factory, two are about sourcing, two are about the formulation (and the label backs only one of those), and one names nobody. That is a normal emblem wall for this category, and the reason to print it with captions rather than as a decorative row is that the captions are where the information is.
What GMP and FDA registration actually mean for Memodyne
Four marks and claims that carry real information, and what that information is.
GMP certified
Good Manufacturing Practice is a set of rules about how a facility documents what it does: cleaning, record keeping, batch control, staff training. A GMP facility is one that has been audited against those rules. It is a real and meaningful standard, and it is about process rather than about product.
An FDA-registered facility
The seller’s page says the capsule is made in an FDA-registered facility. Facilities that make dietary supplements register with the FDA; registration is a listing requirement, not an endorsement, and the FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold. The seller’s own FDA badge reads approved, which no supplement may claim, so this site does not reproduce it.
Made in the USA
A statement about the country of manufacture. Useful for anybody who cares where their supplements are made, and silent on everything else.
Doctor formulated
The emblem names no clinician, and this desk has none to print. An unnamed expert is not an expert a reader can check, so the honest handling is to say so and move on.
What has not been tested for Memodyne, as far as this desk knows
Five things no emblem on this bottle covers.
An honest quality page has to include this list, because the emblems above will otherwise be read as covering it.
- No published assay confirming that a capsule holds the amounts the panel prints. The panel is a declaration; an assay is the measurement that would check it.
- No published heavy-metal or microbial testing for this batch that this desk has been shown.
- No published certificate of analysis. What exists is the reference MEM-4386-26-ME, and what that is worth is set out on verify a batch.
- No clinical trial of the finished product, which is true of the category as a whole rather than of this product particularly.
- No independent third-party certification mark of the kind some supplement brands carry.
None of that means a test was failed. It means a document has not been published, which is a different statement and the only one this desk is in a position to make. If the supplier publishes any of the above, it will appear here with the date it arrived.
How this desk checks a Memodyne quality claim
Four questions this desk asks of every mark on a bottle.
Read what the emblem actually says
The words on the mark, not the impression it gives. Made in the USA and tested in the USA are different claims, and only one of them is on this bottle.
Ask what it is a statement about
A facility, a raw material, a formulation, or a product. Most emblems in this category are about the first two.
Ask who would have to be wrong for it to be false
A certification body, a supplier, or nobody at all. An emblem that nobody audits is decoration.
Print the answer beside the emblem
Which is what the wall at the top of this page does. An emblem grid with no captions is the version of this page that would perform better commercially and inform nobody.
